Ailing science fiction fan, collector, anthologist, and literary agent Forrest J Ackerman, who recently suffered a heart attack, compiled the first known list of "scientifilms (imagi-movies)" back in 1932. Here’s the list, which first appeared in the Vol. 1, No. 1 (January 1932), issue of The Time Traveller fanzine and was reprinted in Martianthology (2003), an anthology compiled by "Uncle Forry" and edited by Anne Hardin:
• Aelita
• Dracula
• Avalanche
• The Golem
• Metropolois
• Radiomania
• Monsieur X
• Relativity
• The Monster
• The Penalty
• Frankenstein
• High Treason
• Just Imagine
• The Third Eye
• The Green Arm
• The Lost World
• 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
• A Trip to Mars
• Mystery of Life
• The Hidden Hand
• Without Warning
• The Mystery Ship
• Hello Television!
• The Unknown Purple
• Our Heavenly Bodies
• A Voyage to the Moon
• Great Radium Mystery
• Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
• A Messenger from Mars
• The Last Man on Earth
• By Rocket to the Moon
• The Mysterious Island
• Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
• A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court
Somewhat related to Ackerman’s list and equally interesting is “In The Silents No One Can Hear You Scream: SF From The Days When Spaceships Didn't Make Any Noise,” a recent essay by Mark Cole at The Internet Review of Science Fiction.
