Collector Greg Hatcher of Comic Book Resources details some of the treasure he scored at the recent Settle Comic-Card show, including about twenty of the twenty-eight issues of John Carter, Warlord of Mars, Marvel’s late 1970s comic book series.In related news, Marvel Entertainment Inc (ticker symbol MVL) announced third quarter earnings this morning, with a profit that topped analyst estimates, helped by box office and DVD revenue from its film Iron Man. But Marvel said it anticipated only a modest 2009 and its shares fell 8 percent in premarket trading. Marvel has been a Wall Street darling, as its stock price has risen more than 20 percent over the last year.
