Last week I received a precious package in the mail: The Martian Chronicles: The Complete Edition (2009). A signed, limited “massively expanded new edition of the Ray Bradbury magnum opus” that includes an introduction by SF author John Scalzi, an introduction by SFFH author Joe Hill, twenty-two previously uncollected or unpublished "Other Martian Tales" written by Mr. Bradbury, stunning color plates by British artist Edward Miller, and two previously unpublished screenplays written by Mr. Bradbury (1964, 1997), this long-awaited, already-sold-out, 750-page, hardcover volume has a storied publishing history and was only brought to fruition through the generosity and hard work of Subterranean Press and PS Publishing.
I’ll be blogging about the twenty-two “Other Martian Tales” throughout Rocket Summer 2010. And, if fans show enough interest, I’ll be giving away my soon-to-be used copy at the end of the summer! Sound interesting? Take the poll (located near the top right-hand column of this blog, just below the promotional artwork for The Martian Chronicles: The Complete Edition) and let me know what you think!
Update, June 20, 2010: Due to technical difficulties, I had to remove the poll. Not to worry, I'll definitely be giving this beautiful book away at the end of the summer!

If you DO give it away, make a note of the limited edition number first. Then see how many days pass before it turns up on eBay...

Awesome Paul. I love Bradbury. Can't believe you'd consider giving this away.Although I did vote for you to give it away it wasn't for selfish reasons.I have a good friend who is the biggest Bradbury fan I've ever known.I'd give it to him with the knowledge I'd get to read and see it whenever I wanted.
I too own this edition of the martian chronicles, and I cant believe you will give it away. If you do, make sure it is to someone who will truely appreciate the book
I'd love to have a copy of this book. It's been years since I read the martian chronicals. It's one of the few bradbury books I don't have.
I can't vote in your poll - Google returns an error for me in that area, but yes, I do vote for you to give it away.
I'd want to win it for myself and would not be putting it up for sale on eBay or anywhere else.
Sorry, let me try this again (first comment had a typo so the comment didn't make sense). I haven't read the original edition in many years and I am also a mars enthusiast - one of the first novels I ever read as a child (about 12) was "The Gods of Mars" by ERB. I would love to own a copy of the limited edition and you can rest assured that it won't end up on eBay (at least not while I'm alive!).
