RPG author and fantasy critic Kenneth Hite of the blog Flames Rising argues in a short but crisp review of Northwest of Earth: The Complete Northwest Smith (Paizo Publishing, 2008), a collection of short stories written in the 1930s by Catherine Lucille "C. L." Moore, that, despite the fact Moore’s hero Northwest Smith is a wanted criminal and occasional smuggler, wears space leathers and a ray-gun, and has a dangerous alien as a sidekick, “He’s more Man With No Name than he is Han Solo.”
Thanks to Eric Mona of Paizo’s Planet Stories blog for the link.
