“Is There Life on Mars?”, a special PBS NOVA television science program, airs on Tuesday night, December 30, 2008, at 8 p.m. EST. The program examines the history of Martian exploration, with a focus on NASA’s Phoenix mission, whose famed lander recently froze to death on the surface of Mars.
